The Taoist - Stargazing | Pet Friendly | Sleeps 4 | Fire Pit

Our short stay at The Taoist was a 10/10! The cabin is a little “off the beaten path”, but grouped with the rest of them. It provided a comfortable and cozy atmosphere that felt like a home away from home. Mike, the host, provided all the things we would possibly need and was there if anything were to occur. I would strongly suggest a 4x4 vehicle, especially after rain. Overall, our experience was great and I’m looking forward to staying here again!

We had such a great time staying here. The road back to the cabins made it feel very private despite other cabins being close by. Everything was just as beautiful in person and we slept so well. My very rural husband isn’t easy to get to go on trips and the cabin had him feeling so relaxed and safe, he’s ready to come back and stay again! Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Taoist. The cabin looks as good as the pictures and we have no complaints whatsoever. Mike was very helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommend this location!

Amazing!

Have you ever stayed at a place that when you entered felt a little more special? This is one of them. When I arrived it was evident to me that the sole reason these were built is to make people feel more special about their stay in a place that is already special. This was our first trip to Red River Gorge and I just couldn’t believe how breathtaking it was. That in conjunction with us staying at the Taoist made it that much more sweet. The space was cared for and considered. It’s just how these photos present it. There’s not special camera magic to make them feel better just to get booked. I mean that. It’s a beautiful area. It’s right in the thick of it all. When it says have an all wheel drive or 4x4 do not ignore that. You’re going to need it. But I’ll tell you this, I am not a tough guy or a four wheelin’ n dealin’ man and I was able to get to it and if I can so can you. But. If you happen to meet me in real life from this review, don’t tell everyone I’ve bragged to about driving up there that you can do it too. In all seriousness, this little jolt of energy going up there just adds to the experience. I suggest bringing your own water for drinking. Bring about 2-5 gallons if you’re going to be cooking with water or enjoy drinking water. The water here is sulfury. This place has charm on top of charm. It will without a shadow of doubt leave you with lasting memories and it will genuinely make your trip to Red River Gorge that much better. Mike is a saint and responds to emails lightning fast and he is kind. On top of that when you stay here, you’re not putting mega dollars in a conglomerates pocket. You can feel good that your contributing to a family business. And they earn their dollars with the care they give.
