We highly recommend this incredible and unique silo cabin at the Gorge!! It exceeded our expectations and that included us (parents in our 40’s), our son who is 11 and daughter who is 8. Each room was gorgeous and included king size beds! It was cozy yet big enough with plenty of seating for all of us and even had a color changing fireplace in the living room! It included: a wonderful fire pit with plenty of seating, cornhole, a nice big, hot tub, Nerf guns and laser tag for the kids, family games…it literally had everything our family needed during our stay. The only issue we had was the internet connection but Mike was responsive and assisted us promptly! Five star all around!! Take it from a family who travels a lot and stays in a lot of various cabins, beach homes, etc…this one was definitely our favorite!

Seven friends stayed at The Derby for our annual glamping trip, and we enjoyed it so much! All things were as advertised, and we had plenty of space for all of us. The Hideaways represent the name well, as you will be off the beaten track. The Derby has excellent wi-fi via StarLink, and once we logged in, we had access to all we needed. However, pay attention to the hosts directions provided the day before. You will need them. Signal is spotty in the Red River Gorge Area, but it was great to be somewhat disconnected at times. The ATV trails are also close if that's your thing! The beds were all comfy, and the stocked coffee bar was excellent. The kitchen had all the items you will need. Our group was excited about all the options offered outside, and we made good use of the hot tub. We enjoyed our stay very much, and we would come back again!

From the moment we arrived, we could tell how much thought and care had gone into every detail. The setting was peaceful and private, making it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature. We had more than enough bath towels, hot tub towels, blankets, and extra amenities if you forgot yours. Exceptionally clean house, clear hot tub, comfortable beds and pillows. Fun place to stay for a family with kids. Excellent communication from the host, Mike. We can’t say enough good things about our experience. If you’re looking for a quiet, beautiful getaway, don’t hesitate to book this silo style retreat!

The Derby was the perfect home base for our family’s Red River Gorge adventure. We loved relaxing in the hot tub, gathering around the fire pit at night, and enjoying all the thoughtful amenities after long days exploring the area. The cabin is beautifully designed, incredibly comfortable, and tucked away in a peaceful setting that feels private while still being close to everything the Gorge has to offer.

We had a wonderful stay at “The Derby”. It was our little one’s first vacation and my husband’s birthday. We hiked up to the Natural Bridge, ate pizza at Miguel’s, enjoyed some local bourbon, explored the shops, soaked in the hot tub, star gazed, cooked ribeyes on the grill, and had two huge bonfires! Everything was wonderful and the Silo was decorated perfectly with everything we could ever need. Our only regret is that our trip was too short but it was the perfect quick getaway! Mike was only an “email” away and provided top tier hospitality. We can’t wait to come back!
